On July 16th, in partnership with Alberta Innovates, Rogers for Business, Titan Logix and Socium Law, Alberta IoT hosted our second annual Golf Tournament at Lynx Ridge Golf Club. After a year that tested everyone’s ability to adapt, this golf tournament proved one thing that we couldn’t be more proud of: the Alberta IoT community is nothing short of resilient. We’re both excited and grateful to provide a fun opportunity for the Alberta IoT community to get back to business. It was a beautiful day to be outside and connect with other professionals while having fun on the course.
The event kicked off with 18 holes of golf on the beautiful Lynx Ridge course, followed by dinner and drinks. During dinner, we enjoyed a brief overview of the IoT Dashboard implemented by Rigstar and ABNet, in partnership with Geoforce and Tektelic. Soon to follow was an update from Alberta IoT Executive Director Brenda Beckedorf which included an overview of the current state of Alberta IoT’s mission and an update on the exciting growth in the ecosystem. Our guest speaker was Peter Crawley, President and CEO of PCC Integrate. Peter delivered an information-packed presentation on PCC Integrate’s vision for creating the next generation of workspaces through IP convergence for digital buildings. Of course, Peter also shared his unique story on how PCC Integrate came to be a part of the Alberta IoT community, which just so happened to start at last year’s golf tournament. You can view Peter’s presentation slides here.

We are proud and humbled to be able to say that our golf tournament was planned and run almost completely by a team of amazing volunteers. Feel free to connect with them on LinkedIn and share your gratitude for a job well done!
