UPDATE Jul-31-2024: Announced in April 2024, there is an annual limitation of 10 start-ups that a designated organization such as Alberta IoT can support per year. We are currently reviewing a large number of applications received and will we be experiencing some additional delay in responding to all applications.

Company Requirements
Applicants to the Alberta IoT Start-Up Visa Program must be a scale-up company with a minimum of 2 years of proven revenue and work in the IoT and/or Emerging Tech Industry.
Ownership Structure
The applicants must jointly hold over 50% of the total voting rights outstanding at that time. A maximum of 5 individuals are eligible to apply under one application with each applicant holding 10% or more of total voting rights.
Active Management
As a successful Start-Up Visa candidate, you must commit to providing active and ongoing business management from within Alberta for at least 2 years, ensuring your direct involvement in its growth and success.
Operations & Incorporation
An essential part of your business operations must take place within Canada, showcasing the integration of your venture into the local economy. Additionally, your business must become incorporated within Canada.
